Bin Laden targets Israel

A new audio message purported to be from Osama Bin Laden has called for Muslims to continue the fight to liberate Palestinian lands.

In a tape marking Israel’s 60th anniversary, the speaker pledged to continue fighting the Israelis and not give up “a single inch of Palestine”. The tape’s authenticity could not be verified. The last messages attributed to Bin Laden were aired in March.

The al-Qaeda leader is thought to be in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border area. Friday’s message, which lasted about nine minutes, was posted on a website commonly used by al-Qaeda.

It came as US President George W Bush ended a trip to Israel coinciding with anniversary celebrations that began last week. The voice on the tape said the fight for the Palestinian cause was the most important factor driving al-Qaeda’s war with the West, and that it had fuelled the 11 September 2001 attacks on the US.

And he continues living in the fifteenth century riding his horse!

Rice in Mid-East

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is in the Middle East for the latest American attempt to advance an IsraeliPalestinian peace deal.

Shortly after arriving in Jerusalem on Saturday evening, she had talks over dinner with Israeli PM Ehud Olmert. She is due to meet Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian PM Salam Fayyad on Sunday.

She will then go on to the West Bank town of Ramallah to see Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Speaking on the aircraft on her way to the region from London, Ms Rice said that everyone wanted to see things move more quickly, and that was why she kept going back to the Middle East.

She’s taking the circus around and around like she doesn’t want to admit that time is up! Over! It has finished for her and her Washington gang! Then again perhaps she’s building up for …five years after!

Attack on Israeli border

At least seven people are reported to have been killed following a raid by Palestinian militants near a border crossing between Gaza and Israel.

Two Israeli workers were killed as a fuel depot at the Nahal Oz crossing in northern Gaza came under attack. The Israeli army said at least two militants were killed as they fled. Another three Palestinians were killed by Israeli missiles, reports said.

The latest violence follows a month or so of relative calm in Gaza. Fighting had subsided since early March, when the Israeli army launched an offensive that killed around 120 Palestinians.

The no ending story with the settlers, another three another six another ten and then Israeli helicopters will kill another ten Palestinians, another five another six and this never ends. For how long? The key question, till they totally kill each other and with them the rest of the world!

Hezbollah in Beirut

Hezbollah is to hold a rally in Beirut to mark the end of the 40-day mourning period for its assassinated commander Imad Mughniyeh. Mughniyeh was killed by a car bomb in Damascus on 12 February.

Israel, although it denies any involvement in the killing, has been braced for retaliation. During his life, Mughniyeh lived in the shadows. But since his death, he has been acclaimed by Hezbollah as one of the group’s most important commanders.

The United States and Israel regarded him as a terrorist, responsible for a string of high-profile attacks over more than two decades. After his killing in Damascus last month, Hezbollah blamed Israel. The group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah spoke of “open war” and hinted at revenge.

The worst crime Bin Laden did was against the people he was supposedly defending and supporting, the Palestinians. Before him the difference between terrorist and liberator was thin and arguable, nowadays Bin Laden has cleared everything… what liberators …they are terrorists!
